March 2016 Announcements

[March 28, 2016]

I hope everyone had an enjoyable break and it was nice to have several students in town to train with last week.

Monday, March 28th TKD Class Location Change
This Monday, March 28th our club doesn’t have the Combat Room reserved at the ARC for class. As a result, TKD class tonight will be held at 6PM in a nearby multi-purpose room on the entrance level or a racquetball court on the lower level. Location details will be posted on the facebook group page & on the door of the Combat Room.

Participating in Belt Tests – Sunday, May 1st
If you plan on participating and being evaluated for the next belt ranking please let me know either in person or via email so that I make sure to order enough boards and supplies. Also, to help prepare for the evaluation please review the belt ranking information and school rules available on our website http://publish.illinois.edu/tkd-illinois/belt-ranks.

Next week I will send out another email with the belt test schedule, fees, other testing items and club potluck dinner information.

[March 7, 2016]

Congratulations to our most recent white belts: Erik and Elizabeth.

Also, this Saturday, March 12th Instructor Austin Happel, Guillermo Ruiz and myself will be participating in black belt evaluations on the east coast. Instructor Zach Duray will lead TKD class on 03/12/16 and there will NOT be high-belt class on Sunday, March 13th.

Spring Break Training: Below is the TKD training schedule over Spring Break (Saturday, March 19th – Sunday, March 27th) for those that may still be on campus.

  • Saturdays: 12pm – 2pm, Monday / Wednesday: 5:30pm – 7pm
  • The ARC will be open over Spring Break so we will train in the Combat Room.

TKD Belt Test DATE REMINDER – Sunday, May 1st
As mentioned previously the end of the semester belt test will be Sunday, May 1st to accommodate the Illinois Marathon (on Saturday, April 30th). There will be more details about the belt test after Spring Break and the reservation has been confirmed. Nonetheless make sure to keep your calendar clear on that date.
