Happy November! Today’s edition of Meet the Staff features none other than the infamous Information Resource Manager (and former GSLIS alum): Jill Gengler! Often found right around the corner from the Help Desk when she’s not running half marathons or biking uphill both ways, Jill enjoys reminding students that the Help Desk is really like a reference desk for technology, and her favorite item to borrow from our extensive equipment collection is the bike lock!
An interesting class that Jill took recently is Knitting 101, and her current projects include pot holders and scarves—just in time for these chilly winter evenings!
The top three things she’d bring with her if she were stranded on a desert island:
- a tent
- waterproof matches
- a book about how to survive on a desert island
On a final note, one unique thing about Jill is that her birth was announced on Hee Haw. Bonus points to anyone who can find the actual recording (she doesn’t remember; she was busy being born at the time). Salute!
