Richard Saul Wurman

Background:

Richard Saul Wurman went to UPenn and received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Architecture. After graduation, his infatuation for learning led him away from the conventional career path of an architect, instead leading him to create his own profession as an ‘information architect.’ His curiosity led him to create TED Talks in the 1980’s before delving into other endeavors, including the 555 Conference and the WWW Conference.

Student Comments

The presentation was great on the level of selecting the entrepreneur and on conducting, editing and presenting the interview. Richard Wurman has a very strange yet attractive personality; he addresses challenges in a very unique and innovative way.
He is a go-getter and a person of huge ego; he utilized all the resources he had to learn more. I liked the way he explained that he didn’t start TED to spread Ideas, but for him to know more and that he didn’t mind if other people gain knowledge in the process. – AH
