Interview an Entrepreneur!

• Identify a design entrepreneur and review relevant information about his/her enterprise on the Web
• Schedule at least a ½-to 1- hour interview
• During your interview be sure to ask the following questions, plus any others that
  interest you:
  1) How did you transfer the skills/knowledge you learned from your architectural
  or other academic degrees into launching your entrepreneurial enterprises?

  2) Could you share with us your business plan: vision, mission, objectives,
  strategies, plans? (key component of the course)

  3) What are your target markets, and what are your marketing strategies to reach
  them?

  4) Could you provide students with an overview of your work – sample projects,
  awards, recognition, press, etc.?

  5) Could you discuss successes, setbacks, bounce-backs, etc. you may have
  encountered along the way?

  6) What are the most important lessons you have learned about
  entrepreneurship, i.e. words of wisdom, to convey to future design
  entrepreneurs?

  7) Could you suggest other colleagues with innovative entrepreneurial design
  careers that we should consider interviewing in the future?
• Deliverables
  A) Visually stunning 30-minute Power Point presentation
  B) One or Two 20” x 30” exhibit board(s) explaining what you learned
  C) Audio or video of recorded interview
