Minor Paper 2

Out of all the papers I revised, this one was the most challenging. Not only did I fail to remember what I originally wrote about in this assignment, I also did not know where to start revising it. The changes I made were pretty simple. I fixed a lot of grammar mistakes, but I also expanded on some of my ideas. To start, I reread the two sources that we had to reflect upon. Then, I looked at the advice Professor Hays gave me and made those minor changes. I had to reread to understand where exactly I wanted to make bigger changes. I pinpointed the area that I wanted to add more information; the second paragraph. I noticed how much I elaborated during the first paragraph and I wanted to do the same for the second one. I added some sentences to enhance my ideas and altered certain words so the paper would flow better. Since writing this particular piece, I feel as though I have come farther in my writing journey. I approached this assignment as just a boring part of my homework I had to complete. Looking back, I could see areas where I could have gone deeper, but failed to do so because it would take more time. I regret not writing for the joy of it, and, instead, writing for a grade. To revise this, I really had to determine how I connected to these two pieces on a deeper level. Although the final product can still be improved, I feel like I encompassed more of my ideals within the assignment. While revising, I learned how much more intriguing a paper can get if the author shows passion towards the topic they are writing about. As I was revising all my other papers, I found it easier to read through and stay connected to the piece, whereas, in this assignment, I struggled to stay interested enough to even finish reading it again. I know how much writing has meant to me, and through this past semester, I began to once again write for my love of writing.
