Reflection

Being one of my first major essay’s, I would like to mention that this by far was one of my lowest scoring assignments. When writing the assignment it was somewhat difficult to me because never before have a I wrote a paper in the form of the Toulmin analysis. Also, never before have I had to write a paper about an object and provide a claim for it. However, none of this matters now because the class has taught me a lot and and so has the teacher.

Since I began the project none of my ideas on the paper have changed. The only changes made to the project were clarifications, citation errors, and grammatical errors. For example, before there were specific parts in the paper where I went off topic and threw in words just to try and full fill the word count. My teacher was able to advise me and instead I just elaborated more on other specific parts so that I did not just have a chunk of unnecessary ideas that could throw my audience off. Other changes in the essay included capitalizing my title and putting my citations in order.

A lot of my revising consisted over reading over my old work many times to try and see what was wrong and what sounded off. Also, going back and looking at the rubric and requirements. Mrs. Hays feedback is what helped guide me most. Mrs. Hays feedback helped me go back to specific parts in the piece that required the most attention. A lot of the changes made on this paper were made because Mrs. Hays had addressed to me a lot of my errors through comments on the assignment. From this I learned that new writing style can be difficult but manageable if practiced.
