Curated List of University Resources

There are dozens and dozens of university and university-affiliated organizations that can offer support resources to students, faculty and staff in all kinds of circumstances. These are some of the primary places to start with when you need some help:

  • WELLNESS@Illinois
    • This site will help you decide what kind of assistance you need and how to get connected to services for mental health, wellness, access, and accommodation.
  • WECARE
  • Counseling Center
    • The University of Illinois Counseling Center provides mental health counseling and wellbeing education for students. Our center is staffed by a group of diverse professionals who understand the range of concerns facing students.
    • Embedded FAA Counselor
      • The College of FAA has its own embedded counselor from the counseling center, who understands the specific concerns of arts students and may be more accessible than the counseling center.
      • Bryan Deutsch (bmdeuts2@illinois.edu)
  • Women’s Resource Center
    • The Women’s Resources Center (WRC) is available to ALL genders, and is a designated confidential resource related to sexual assault/rape, sexual harassment, stalking and abuse within a relationship (sometimes called dating or domestic violence). That means when we talk with students, staff, and faculty who have experienced harm, we make sure you get what you need and on your terms! There are several Confidential Advisors at the WRC who can provide you – or someone looking to support you – with support and advocacy services.
  • Campus Belonging Resource & Incident Reporting
  • DRES
    • DRES offers academic accommodations and supports a variety of academic accommodations and services to allow University of Illinois students with disabilities (both visible and non-visible) to gain equal access to their courses and campus activities.
  • Office of the Director of Basic Needs
    • The university’s Director of Basic Needs in the Dean of Students Office is Katie Harmon. “Basic Needs” refers to access to essential services that impact overall health and well-being. Basic needs resources include access to nutritious food, stable housing, healthcare, childcare, transportation, and financial resources.
