In the Classroom
If you feel confident in doing so, reach out to your instructor or teaching assistants.
Most classroom issues can be solved with open communication with your instructor about what you are experiencing. From workload management to concerns about course content, your instructor has the most ability to directly affect the outcomes you are seeking.
You Can Also Try These Pathways:
If you prefer not to contact your instructor, or you spoke to them but you desire further action, make an appointment with the head of the area that is applicable to your course:
- Acting: Kim McKean (kmckea1@illinois.edu)
- Theatre Studies: Thom Miller (miller64@illinois.edu)
- Level 21: Rob Perry or Terri Ciofalo (tciofalo@illinois.edu, robperry@illinois.edu)
- Undergraduate Advisor: If you are an undergraduate student and are unsure about which of the above areas your course falls under, contact the Undergraduate Advisor: Cathy Feely (clfeely@illinois.edu)
If you prefer not to contact an area head, or you spoke to them but you desire further action, contact one of our directors of studies:
- Director of Undergraduate Studies: Cindy Kocher (ckocher@illinois.edu)
- Director of Graduate Studies: Jeffrey Eric Jenkins (jej@illinois.edu)
If you are not comfortable with the above options, or you have used them but you desire further action, make an appointment with the Head of Illinois Theatre, Valleri Robinson (valleri2@illinois.edu) or the Associate Head, JW Morrisette (jwmorris@illinois.edu)
