In a Shop

If you feel comfortable, speak with the KCPA Shop Head who is overseeing the workspace or work call that you are part of this.  This includes concerns related to your practicum assignment, a work-study job, or your assistantship.

KCPA Shop heads can help you with questions about health and safety concerns, training and skills development, managing workload and schedule, and addressing the interactions between you and your peers or supervisors. KCPA shop heads are responsible for managing the culture, procedures and professionalism of their shops.

A NOTE ABOUT OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY CONCERNS

If you have immediate concerns about your physical or mental health and safety during a work call, production assignment or when working in a shop or theater, stop working and share your concerns with the call supervisor. If you continue to feel unsafe in the work environment or in the manner in which you are being asked to complete a task, do not continue to work. Contact the KCPA Shop Head, Assistant Shop Head, Production Director or any member of the production staff for assistance. No matter how busy it may seem to be, KCPA production staff are always ready to help you when your health and safety are at stake.
