Heather Raynie is a freelance lighting designer with experience in lighting dance, theatre, and musicals. She recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Lighting Design and Technology.
Her contribution to this course was the lighting design for the production of Quantum Voyages. While there was limited equipment available, the show took shape and trust the audience into the quantum world with saturated colors and carefully timed shifts. 
The equipment that I worked with was made up of two lighting trees, eight wash fixtures, and seven working dimmers. The creative process was very short because of the limited resources. The basic needs of the show only required face light and saturated colors. Enough to see the performers and create different landscapes.
