Solar power is used only in small-scale applications. Due to its prohibitive expenses and excessive land usage, solar is not a practical source for widespread implementation. Where it is used, it is paid for individually. A private company, ACESOLAR, owns multiple solar projects and plans to add more in coming years. An example of theirs is the Miravalles Plant in the northwest region of the country.
