Gillian Rowe is a new undergraduate member of our team. She is currently majoring in Natural Resources and Environmental Science and working towards a minor in sustainability at the University of Illinois. Within her major, she is concentrating in human dimensions to combine her interests in both the natural and social sciences. Outside of class she is an active member of organizations on campus such and Positive Illini and Climate Reality Project. She has also spent much of her time on campus working at the Plant Biology Greenhouse. She is currently exploring the possibility of attending graduate or law school. In the future she hopes to help improve people’s relationship with nature through work with both people and the environment. For the Denali project Gillian will start by working on transcription of this past summers interviews. She will then move on to creating a biological inventory of communities in Alaska to better understand protected area impact. She is excited at the opportunity to work with a diverse team of researchers on a project that involves both social science and the natural environment.
