Mestre Publishes “Designing Effective Library Tutorials”

Book coverThis October, Lori Mestre, Head of the Undergraduate Library, published her book, Designing Effective Library Tutorials: A Guide for Accommodating Multiple Learning Styles. According to the publisher, Chandos Publishing,

“Designing Effective Library Tutorials provides examples of, and steps for, how to create tutorials that match learning styles, based on usability studies of students from various cultural groups and styles of learning. The book presents studies, practical suggestions, and examples to assist librarians and faculty as they develop online programs for students from diverse learning styles. Highly Commended Paper Award for Faculty

“Technology on demand: Implementing loanable technology services at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign” published in Library Hi Tech has been chosen as a Highly Commended Award Winner at the 2012 Literati Network Awards for Excellence.  The paper was one of the most impressive pieces of work the journal’s Editorial Team had seen throughout 2011.  The paper’s authors include Susan Avery, Jim Hahn, Lori Mestre, and David Ward–all of the Undergraduate Library.
