The University of Illinois Archives has been awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to develop a prototype web-portal and analysis-engine to provide access to archival material related to the development of the iconic, multi-disciplinary field of cybernetics.

Carlstone Receives 2017 First Step Award

Jamie Carlstone, Electronic Serials Bibliographic Control Specialist at the University Library at Urbana-Champaign, has been named the recipient of the 2017 First Step Award from the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS).

The award will be presented on Saturday, June 24, at the ALCTS Awards Ceremony during the 2017 ALA Annual Conference in Chicago.

Imker to Lead Illinois Efforts in Multi-Institution Data Curation Network Funded by Sloan Foundation

Imker_LinkedIn_2014Heidi Imker, Director of the Research Data Service and Associate Professor at the University of Illinois Library, will lead local participation in a new Data Curation Network funded by the Sloan Foundation. The grant will enable six institutions, including Illinois, to pilot a “network of expertise” model for data curation services.
