JJ Pionke, Applied Health Sciences Librarian and Assistant Professor at the University Library, has received the American Library Association’s Carnegie-Whitney Grant. In the course of the grant, Pionke will create a suite of annotated research guides on specific disabilities. Funds will support hiring a graduate hourly to work with Pionke on the guides.

Hahn Receives Campus Research Board Award to Develop Personalized Recommendations of Library Content
Jim Hahn, Orientation Services and Environments Librarian and Associate Professor at the University Library, has received a Campus Research Board Award to fund his proposal, “Research and Development of an Intelligent Personalized Recommendation Platform for Library Accounts.” Funds will support undergraduate assistants who will help design front-end views for users of the resulting recommendation system.
Green Awarded Humanities Without Walls “Global Midwest” Grant
Harriett Green, English and Digital Humanities Librarian and Assistant Professor at the University Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has been awarded $50,000 from the Mellon-funded Humanities Without Walls initiative to pursue her project entitled “Humanities Collaborations and Research Practices: Exploring Scholarship in the Global Midwest” (HCRP). HCRP is an eighteen-month project in collaboration with Indiana University Libraries and the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois.
Rimkus Wins Campus Research Board Award for Work on Digital Preservation
Kyle Rimkus, Preservation Librarian and Assistant Professor at the University Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has received a Campus Research Board Award in support of his project, “Advancing File Format Policymaking for Digital Preservation.” The funds will support the hiring of a research assistant for work in 2015.
