Interest

Tooba joined INHS on November 16 as an Academic Research Technician at the Wildlife Veterinary Epidemiology Laboratory. She holds a Master’s in Zoology with a thesis on antibiotic resistance in Aeromonas spp. isolated from diseased fishes in Punjab, Pakistan. Previously, she worked as a Research Associate at the Hong Kong University-Pasteur Research Pole within the School of Public Health, specializing in MALDI-TOF spectrometry and antimicrobial susceptibility assays using a Thermo Scientific Sensititre system. During her master’s, she worked as a Research Associate in a Higher Education Commission-funded project on the Epidemiology and Molecular Characterization of Aeromonas spp. isolates from Pakistani farmed carp. Tooba also dedicated two years to a project on the Epidemiology and Molecular Characterization of fish bacterial pathogens in Punjab, Pakistan. At the Wildlife Veterinary Epidemiology Lab, she is involved in genetic research on Chronic Wasting Disease in white-tailed deer in Illinois.
