Reflection

For the proposal and annotated bibliography, I had many edits to make. My knowledge of MLA formatting is not the best and therefore I made mistakes pertaining to citations. Starting with the proposal, I changed the word from “effect” to the more grammatically correct “affect”, a mistake I have also been making quite a lot. I also changed sentence where I used passive voice and successfully made it shorter. Then I began to edit my annotated bibliography, My first citation was incomplete and so I went back to the website where I found the article and did a little more digging to find the name of the academic journal as well as its publishing date. There were also a couple of instances where I used apostrophe’s where I should not have and left them out where I needed them. This error is one I do not usually make during my writing and if I do make it I can catch it during my edits. I was surprised to find this error multiple times in my annotated bibliography. I changed the apostrophes and I now will keep a mental note to watch out for that mistake. In the annotation sections, I often mixed up the summary paragraph with the analysis. I made several changes to these errors and hopefully was successful in correcting these flaws. I had never written an annotated bibliography before this assignment. I found it extremely helpful to refer to while I was writing the actual research paper. Once I knew how each source would help my paper and strengthen my thesis, I knew which sources should be apart of the same paragraphs.
