This was one of my favorite papers I wrote. I was really intrigued with The Scarlet Letter and enjoyed writing about it. I liked writing about the characters because they were so interesting and different. It was easy to write about because I understood the material and genuinely liked the book. Unfortunately, I think I was overly excited about it. I made great points and claims but I repeated myself a little too much. I should have came up with more claims so that I could have more facts to back up my writing.

So for my revision, I made sure my claims went with the right quotes and made sense. I went back and fixed small things that really helped improve this essay. These small changes make the essay a lot stronger and help make it flow better. There were many grammar mistakes that I needed to fix and they definitely helped make my essay stronger and easier to read. I learned a lot from this because it’s so easy to make little revisions. Every time I look over and fix my essays, I should reread them at least 5 more times to make sure I’m happy with it!

I learned from this assignment that you shouldn’t get too comfortable with it. I thought it was a great essay and didn’t edit it as much as I should. Just because I think it’s great, doesn’t mean there aren’t things that need to be changed. For you English 109 students, if you think you wrote a great essay thats awesome, but make sure you look over it and not be afraid to change anything!
