Annotations of As I Lay Dying

These are some annotations I wrote for As I Lay Dying. We read this novel in our third unit of this semester. This novel was important to take annotations because I wrote an essay on Southern Gothic. This novel had the Southern Gothic style and really helped me find facts to back up my claims.

Annotations for Getting Mother’s Body

These are my annotations for Getting Mother’s Body. Like the novel, As I Lay Dying, it helped me support my claims for Southern Gothic style. We read this novel throughout units three and four. In this set of annotations, I noted that “holes” was founded which was an easter egg for this novel.

Notes from Class

These are my notes taken on March 12th. These notes were taken in Unit 2. During this unit we learned a lot about passive voice. I learned the difference between passive and active voice and when to use them in your papers. We also did a mini lesson for passive voice that really helped me distinguish the difference from it and active voice.

Notes from Class

These notes were taken earlier in the semester about Ernest Hemingway and some of his writings. It’s good to have a biography background about a particular author because it can help identify why they write the way they do. Hemingway writes in a minimalistic way. His writing played a major role in one of my essays dealing with different writing styles like minimalism.
