The Summer Piano Institute at the University of Illinois offers advanced study for young pianists. Participants will benefit from individual lessons with each SPI faculty member, attendance at daily master classes and access to newly renovated practice rooms all equipped with Steinway grand pianos. Included with the program are performance opportunities and admission to faculty recitals.

For 2022, advanced pianists of age 14-17 are welcome to apply to the pre-college division. Pre-college division students will participate in the same lessons, master classes and participant recitals, and will also be eligible to compete in the concerto competition. Registration for the pre-college division includes housing, meals and counselor supervision.

The concerto competition is available to all participants for the opportunity to compete for a performance with Sinfonia da Camera, the resident professional orchestra of Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, University of Illinois. Read more about the competition.
