Reflection
I chose to revise this piece both by addressing Professor Mary’s comments and responding to my critique of the movie. The biggest adjustment I made to this writing was correcting and reflecting on my own line of thought. I enjoy responding to my own writing because it provides me with the opportunity to progress and ultimately be a more well-rounded person. I’m happy Professor Mary commented on this because it forced me to think about how the statement I corrected actually sounds and what sort of weight it carried. I mentioned this in the revision, but I know that Mrs. Teters will likely not ever read this statement; however, if she did, I would be horrified. I know if the situation were reversed, I would feel belittled knowing someone thinks my opinion is a limitation, especially when it’s my culture being mocked. I know this statement is small but the more I focus on it, the more issues I have. I am glad to have the opportunity to correct myself in this way of thinking and be able to express it through a revision.
In revising this, and other pieces, I correct small grammar errors. The majority are comma or apostrophe issues, which I believe I could correct by giving the pieces a final, more thorough review.
