Tower Road Beach

Tower Road Beach is located at the southern end of the bluff coast of Lake Michigan.  At this location you can see the intersection of moraines and Lake Michigan, resulting in towering bluffs.

Like many of the other beaches, erosion is a major problem. Historically, sand eroding out of the bluffs nourished the beach, but efforts to stabilize the bluffs have reduced that input. Reduction of the beach has led to lakebed erosion which allows larger waves and more erosion.
