The 2015 Library Research Showcase was just a sampling of the research pursued by University of Illinois Library faculty and academic professionals. In the course of the Fall you could also find them representing Illinois and sharing knowledge with their colleagues at a wide range of events, often invited to speak due to their prominence in the field. Join Us! Third Annual Library Research Showcase (November 10, 2015, 1-4pm)

The University Library invites the campus community and friends of the library to its Third Annual Library Research Showcase from 1-4PM on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Library faculty and academic professionals will present their research, which impacts a wide variety of library services as well as the global LIS profession and other scholarly fields. At the Showcase, you’ll find posters, tech demos, and lightning talks on data management, digital publishing, metadata & discovery, collaborative services, and much more. A welcome and opening remarks by Dean of Libraries John Wilkin will precede the lightning talks.

Summer 2015 Presentations by Library Faculty and Academic Professionals

Over the summer, Library Faculty and Academic Professionals were busy presenting all over the world. The topics were as wide-ranging as the innovative addition of video studios in libraries to how oral history plays an important role in collective memory. Some other topics included digital humanities, preserving and searching data, and the many ways librarianship and instruction intersect. The list that follows highlights the places and topics covered by librarians at conferences this summer beyond those at the ALA Annual Conference, as covered in a previous post.
