The University Library is pleased to invite the campus community to the Fourth Annual Library Research Showcase. The event will be hosted in the Main Library from 1-4 PM on Monday, November 14, 2016. Library faculty and academic professionals will present their research in a variety of formats. Their research impacts the global library and information science profession as well as other scholarly fields.

Research Showcase 2016

The University Library is pleased to invite the campus community to the Fourth Annual Library Research Showcase. The event will be hosted in the Main Library from 1-4 PM on Monday, November 14, 2016. Library faculty and academic professionals will present their research in a variety of formats. Their research impacts the global library and information science profession as well as other scholarly fields.

This year’s showcase will feature presentations on research related to the history of libraries, artist’s books, data policies and services, pedagogy, conceptual modeling, the right to privacy, disability services, digital preservation, and more.

Librarians Representing Illinois at IFLA 2016 Conference

U of I librarians will be participating in the 2016 International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions World Library and Information Congress (IFLA WLIC) and various IFLA WLIC satellite conferences this month. IFLA WLIC will take place in Columbus, Ohio on August 13-19. Their involvement includes presentations, work on committees, and organization of satellite conference events. IFLA WLIC will also include a special celebration for the 25th anniversary of The Mortenson Center for International Library Programs.

Spring 2016 Presentations by Library Faculty and Academic Professionals

Spring saw University of Illinois Library faculty and academic professionals traveling the world both physically and virtually to give keynotes, present webinars, and participate in panels. Topics included extending information literacy capacity to better serve international students or to include intersections with scholarly communication, eighteenth century ritual and popular culture, support for underrepresented groups in technology, and more. The following list is just a sampling of the many ways library faculty and academic professionals at Illinois contributed back to their professional communities in the past few months.
