Laura and Brendan are part of a team lead by Virginia Ferguson (U. Colorado) looking to create better ways to generate graded biomaterials for osteochondral (cartilage-bone) repair. Their paper ‘Reinforcement of mono- and bi-layer poly(ethylene glycol) hydrogels with a fibrous collagen scaffold,’ demonstrates an approach to combine scaffold and hydrogel-based biomaterials to prevent delamination.
