“My journey through class was like a roller coaster.”

When I heard that I was required to take Rhet 105, I already knew I was going to go on a crazy ride. I was told from my peers that you had to write a lot of essays and papers in Rhet 105. Therefore, it gave me a sneak preview of what the class was going to be like, and I could almost picture it in my head. It was like seeing the roller coaster before you were about to ride it; you knew what was in stored for you, but you have not actually attempted the ride yet. As for my journey, I would read the syllabus and see what was in stored for me in Rhet 105. I saw all the major essays, minor assignments, and lessons; it would make me nervous and make me wonder why I have to take this class.

The actual journey throughout Rhet 105 was exactly like a roller coaster; there were some high points and some low points. I knew there would be some bumpy roads that I would not like and some loops that were nearly unexpected. I would close my eyes and hope everything would be over; as for reality, I would sleep and hope to never wake up for another Rhet class again. I would have all my peers riding the journey with me, but I did not want to scream to embarrass myself; therefore, I did not want to make myself a fool in class when I did not get something or forgot to do a homework assignment. Therefore, I kept up with the materials and stayed on track with the papers. I knew the journey would end eventually since I knew there was an ending to it. However, after the entire roller coaster ride through Rhet 105, I was proud of myself and learned that I can overcome so many obstacles. I can overcome my fear of being a bad writer and improve my confidence; I had the potential to be something greater than just an average student. I wanted to become better.
