Centre College invites applications for a three-year full-time visiting assistant professor of chemistry to start in August 2022.  Centre College has a strong tradition of excellence in the sciences; the chemistry program is ACS approved. We seek a colleague who will enhance the learning and teaching environment at Centre College with their experience, ideas, and perspectives. Teaching responsibilities may include General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, upper-level electives, and chemistry courses for non-science majors.  Priority will be given to candidates who have a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree by the start of their appointment.

Jump Start Your Career with the Drug Development Training Program (DDTP) at Genentech for PhD Graduates

The Development Sciences Drug Development Training Program (DDTP) at Genentech is for recent doctoral graduates who are looking to gain hands-on training and mentoring in multiple areas of clinical and pre-clinical drug development. DDTP participants will get the chance to spend three years gaining invaluable, on-the-job experience in one of the functions of the Development Sciences (DevSci) organization based in South San Francisco, California.

The ultimate goal of the DDTP is to prepare participants with the skills and experience they need to secure a scientist-level position at Genentech or at another top tier biomedical research organization. Come join us and apply today!

The DDTP is now recruiting its third class for a September 2022 – January 2023 start date. Recent graduates of a doctoral program (e.g. PhD,  MD/PhD, DVM) or in final year of doctorate are eligible to apply. Recent graduates are defined as being within two years since graduating from a doctoral program.

Program Qualifications:

  • Must have studied one of the following disciplines: biology, biochemistry, biomedical  engineering, biomedical sciences, cell biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, data science/bioinformatics, microbiology, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, toxicology, or related field
  • Experience working in research labs or industrial biotech through internships
  • Possesses a strong academic performance and publication record
