Food Losses and Waste in China and Their Implication for Water and Land

Researchers from Beijing Forest University performed a comprehensive review on available information on food loss and food waste in China. Results show 19% of grains are lost from field to fork. http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/es401426b

Smallholder Farmers’ Highway to Food Markets

A July 2013 FAO report, “Smallholder Integration in Changing Markets”, emphasizes the heterogeneity of subsistence farmers, concluding there is no one-size-fits-all approach. The Mud on Their Legs – Farmer to Farmer Videos in Uganda

Paul Van Mele and colleagues created eleven farmer-to-farmer learning videos in Bangladesh and West Africa about growing rice from seed to postharvest beginning in 2003. Meta-Impact Assessment of Rice Research Consortium

The Irrigated Rice Research Consortium (IRRC) published a report, ‘A Meta-Impact Assessment of the IRRC’, which analyzed the effects of its international research programs.
