How do people use mobile devices for information seeking, and how can we best design library and information services for those who do so? How can we transform spaces and services to address the changing needs of library users? These themes are just two running through new publications by library faculty and academic professionals at the University of Illinois Library. Green Awarded Humanities Without Walls “Global Midwest” Grant

Harriet Green -- English and Digital Humanities Librarian, University LibraryHarriett Green, English and Digital Humanities Librarian and Assistant Professor at the University Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has been awarded $50,000 from the Mellon-funded Humanities Without Walls initiative to pursue her project entitled “Humanities Collaborations and Research Practices: Exploring Scholarship in the Global Midwest” (HCRP). HCRP is an eighteen-month project in collaboration with Indiana University Libraries and the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois.

Rimkus Wins Campus Research Board Award for Work on Digital Preservation

Kyle Rimkus -- Preservation Librarian, University LibraryKyle Rimkus, Preservation Librarian and Assistant Professor at the University Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has received a Campus Research Board Award in support of his project, “Advancing File Format Policymaking for Digital Preservation.” The funds will support the hiring of a research assistant for work in 2015.
