Leadership

These are activities and events that I have participated in as a professional to increase awareness of statistics and data science to the larger community, as well as recruit and retain underrepresented students in STEM and graduate education. I choose the word “leadership” instead of “service” because I firmly believe that these activities go above and beyond the typical duties of an educator. The leadership I describe involves power, trust, and fortitude to make an impact in our discipline and in the community.
