What supplies do we need for first year, including supplies for clinical rotations?

The supplies found on the SAVMA supply sheet that was sent out to the class are the supplies that are recommended or required for your first year. To access the order form PDF, Click here!

How are exams structured?

The exams are structured as in three different parts. Two of the exams are multiple choice with one or two questions coming from each lecture. The anatomy exams are structured as a practical write in or short answer. This will be covered in more detail during your first week of classes.

Can you take other classes outside of the Veterinary Program like a language course?

Typically no, try contacting the Office of Academic and Student Affairs at the phone number (217) 265-0380 for more information. There is one Spanish elective course (VM 694 Veterinary Spanish) taught by one of the professors, however, electives are preset for the fall with first years. There will be more information on electives during orientation. Hope this helped!

Where can I locate my SAVMA ID?

Step 1: Go to this website

Step 2: Sign in to your account.

Step 3: Click on “Personal Information” in the Dashboard list on the left.

Step 4: Scroll down to “Member Information”, under this there is a box that says AVMA ID.

The AVMA ID is your SAVMA ID! Hope this helps!
