Their first strategic area is ‘ensuring sustainable food production’, which encompasses reduction of waste within the food system. Mobile Phones Unleash Farmers in Uganda
A new cloud-based mobile platform that combines agricultural information and financial services is being made available to smallholder farmers in Uganda. The platform collects data and optimizes services and product offerings based off data analysis and farmer history. ICAR to Focus on North-Eastern States
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) will allocate 10% of funds to the Northeast region of India to address food security, one focus being reducing postharvest losses. New Postharvest Storage Technologies for Latin America
The 2nd Latin American Convention on Airtight Storage was held in March in Guatemala, and showcased latest technologies that prevent losses of grain during storage and transport phases. FAO and the CGIAR Consortium signed an MOU to form a strategic partnership working towards a food-secure future.
