Lunch Discussion & Collaboration Resources

Strategies for Sustained NRC Collaborations, Resource Sharing, and Joint Outreach Portal – Lunch Time Discussion Slides

  • After the 2015 Outreach Conference, hosted by the Stone Center for Latin American Studies at Tulane, a google groups/mailing list was created by Breeanna Elliot (Boston University) and Denise Woltering Vargas (Tulane University).
As a google group, you are able to post items to the e-list either online through the groups.google.com website or directly from your email using the e-list email (outreached@googlegroups.com). Either way you post, all individuals on the e-list will receive the update by email and the post (and resultant email thread) will be stored online on the google group website. If you would like to adjust your email preferences, you can do so online via google groups if your email is associated with a gmail account. This allows you to make changes such as not receiving updates every time a new post is made. Regardless of whether or not you receive email updates, all posts will be available online.    If you have any questions regarding membership management, please contact the designated google group moderators: Breeanna Elliott (bmellio@bu.edu); Denise Woltering Vargas (dwolteri@tulane.edu); or Jeremie Smith (smith193@illinois.edu). Please invite your colleagues to join the list as well.
  • The Internationalizing Social Studies website provides information about the U.S. Department of Education Title VI National Resource Centers, which have great resources for internationalizing your curriculum!  Each center, spread across the country, has teacher resources, including curricula and other information, on global diversity.  Each center focuses on a specific geographic region and has resources particular to that region. Although this website was established for the Social Studies classroom, resources from these centers are applicable to all disciplines and grade levels. Check with individual centers to see how their resources fit with Common Core standards. Visit the website and follow the links to the left to look for information from particular world areas or to learn more about the Title VI NRC program.
