Organized by four students, and later under the direction of School of Music faculty with students and officers, the UI Black Chorus has sustained a high level of excellence in performance and collaborating with writers, jazz and gospel musicians, chamber orchestras, and dancers.

ICANEXSEL STEM Education Outreach Volunteers 

Join us for a fun and engaging STEM Education Outreach Program in Chicago!  This is a great way to immerse yourself in U.S. culture, gain valuable co-curricular experience for your resume, and make an important impact for youth in the community.

The College of Engineering is partnered with the Chicago Pre-College Science and Engineering (ChiS&E) Program, a non-profit organization focused on preparing inner-city middle school students for college science and engineering programs. As part of the partnership, the ICANEXSEL Outreach Program was launched, in which University of Illinois students facilitate engaging, math and computer programming activities on several Saturdays each semester at the University of Illinois at Chicago campus.

-Volunteers work in small groups with middle school students to get them excited about math and engineering! Lunch and transportation to/from Chicago is provided to volunteers.

-Volunteers are needed for the following Saturdays in Chicago: Oct 7Oct 21, & Nov 4, and for hosting visiting youth for a STEM activity day at the UI campus on Nov 11.

-Please use the online form below to sign-up as a volunteer and to register for one of the training sessions scheduled this week–Oct 4 (5-6 p.m.), Oct 5 (6-7 p.m.), or Oct 6 (3-4 p.m.).
