Group Participates at the 2019 Illinois Structural Engineering Conference

The Wind Engineering Research Laboratory participated at the 2019 Illinois Structural Engineering Conference held at the I Hotel and Conference Center.

Graduate Student Justin Nevill presented his poster titled Empirical tornado resilience model for light-framed wood buildings. This research is done with data collected after the EF-3 tornado at Naplate, IL. 

Graduate Student Rishabh Moorjani presented his poster titled Influence of a Building’s Architectural Form on its Crosswind Response, a collaborative project with SOM.

Graduate student Guanzhao Chen presented his poster titled An analytical pattern-based method for estimation of a near-surface tornadic wind field.

Graduate student Antonio Zaldivar presented his poster titled Loading Characterization of Thunderstorms and Tornadoes.
