Rights Statement Lessons

These lessons are a bit more specific and address issues related to open educational resources (and Creative Commons licensing) as well as the topic of copyfraud and metadata issues with copyright.

The lesson about Copyfraud specifically addresses issues when materials that are actually in the public domain are labeled incorrectly as still in-copyright (and often “owned” by a digitizing institution). The lesson on open educational resources (OER) addresses what OER is and how it is useful to the educational community, but more specifically for the copyright student how open licenses such as Creative Commons licenses allow others to re-use and re-mix OER.
