  • Immediately enclose one or more bat ticks in a Ziploc bag with a handful of fresh grass or leaves (to keep tick alive as long as possible)
  • Fold over the top portion of the bag and tape it to securely seal closed
  • Include location information where tick was recovered, date of recovery, habitat (e.g. attic, barn, tree roost) and your preferred contact information
  • If using a standard envelope, fold the Ziploc into a piece of stiff paper before inserting in envelope; padded mailers also work well.
  • All ticks from a discrete location on a given date can be included in a single bag. More than one bag can be mailed at a time.
