Artist Statement

Take four.

As you can infer by now, this is my fourth attempt at writing an artist statement, but I think I may be on to something. Bare with me.  I have never considered myself to be an artistic person by any means, instead I have always been the exact opposite. The challenge to create a memorable artist statement is , what I consider, to be the same challenge that I’ve experienced as a writer. However, coming out of my comfort zone has allowed me to improve my writing and explore topics that I otherwise would have not attempted. Those improvements and topic explorations are depicted through my various research topics, source use, and improvements from paper to paper. The challenges that I endured as a writer are also evident, primarily through Professor Mary’s comments and common, reoccurring errors . All of which, are illustrated through this E-Portfolio. Being an undeclared undergraduate student, many of the challenges and improvements I’ve experienced as a writer can be applicable to any major I decide to declare.  The process of writing and becoming a great writer, not only relates to Rhet 105, but life in general. There are going to be multiple takes and challenges to producing the best version of you, but remember your the director of your own movie.
