Global Studies courses open

Please bring the following LAS Global Studies courses to your students’ attention. We welcome students from all majors to enroll in these courses.
 
Note that some count towards general education requirements.
 
GLBL 100 (Section A) – Introduction to Global Studies (GEN ED – Social Sciences)
This is the introductory course for the Global Studies major.  This course focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary global issues as well as inquiry-driven approaches to connect local concerns to the global level. 
 
GLBL 220 – Governance
Provides an introduction to important themes, problems and approaches to global governance in a series of issue areas, including security, economics, migration, and the environment. Covers the historical development of the international system as well as contemporary controversies.
 
GLBL 225 – Global Studies Career Development: Internships
Teaches students with global studies academic interests how to identify internships and service-learning learning opportunities relevant to their major. Students prepare application materials, conduct informational interviews, participate in mock job interviews, explore networking strategies, and create a career narrative that represents their academic interests and skills.
 
GLBL 250- Development An introductory course to theory and practice of international development, from an interdisciplinary social science perspective. Required for the new Certificate in International Development Studies open to all undergraduates.
