We’re hard at work here at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) preparing a great zone 8 meeting for fall of 2014.  The meeting will be held on October 31, 2014-November 1, 2014, beginning at approximately 6:00 PM on Friday (October 31) and lasting until Saturday evening (November 1).  A full event schedule will soon be posted, but the events will include:

• Talk by Professor Anthony Leggett, Nobel laureate in physics
• Talk by Professor Aida El-Khadra, distinguished theoretical particle physicist
• Career panel
• Graduate school panel
• Student presentation and poster sessions
• Lab tours
• Opportunities to interact with other students interested in physics
• Liquid nitrogen ice cream
