FCI to build 42 silos in 10 states to store foodgrains

The Food Corporation of India has begun its ‘mission mode’ of modernizing the country’s food grain storage by building 42 new state-of-the-art silos, each with a capacity of 2 million tonnes. German Government Investigates Postharvest Losses

A government study of postharvest losses in Germany finds the country has lost 3.3% of wheat, or about 820,000 tonnes, per year over the last three years. Brazil Allocates $12bn to Close Grain Storage Void

As part of its $64 billion plan to support agriculture, Brazil will allocate$12 billion to increase storage capacity. The program will fund low-interest loans for private companies. Meta-Impact Assessment of Rice Research Consortium

The Irrigated Rice Research Consortium (IRRC) published a report, ‘A Meta-Impact Assessment of the IRRC’, which analyzed the effects of its international research programs.
