First Ever National Science, Technology and Innovation Week Wows
Kenya’s first National Science, Technology and Innovation Week exhibition featured an Antiflatoxin and Grain Prevention device that is 90% effective in preventing food spoilage in grains. Construction of 10km Techimantia-Akomadan Road Begins
Ghana is beginning the construction of a ten-kilometer road in order to reduce traveling time and help link farm produce to major marketing centers. Temporary grain storage “igloos” in New South Wales, Australia, are being threatened by not only cold weather but also cockatoos. Improving Food Security in Timor-Leste to End ‘Hungry Season’
Timor-Leste is receiving US$5.6 million in grant money from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for poor maize growing household development. More than 30% of stored maize is lost to rodents and weevils, and the project aims to provide better storage technologies, facilities, and practices.
