Ghana is also preparing to become a major supplier of food in the African continent, as its success with farms under the National Service Scheme (NSS) has paved the way for a possible rebirth of an agricultural economy. Governmental importance on the projects aid in developing such farms as sources of future employment for youth, and also of a change toward more mechanized approaches in farming.
