Become a peer mentor
&
Design your own workshop
All students are required to join a group project. For these projects, you will be asked to explore some aspects of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The official processes won’t start until the first on-campus class meeting!
How To Set Up a Workshop and Be a Peer Mentor!
Week 1: Get together in your group to determine your group topic
Week 2: Contact the person who will be your mentor and set up a meeting
Week 3: Interview the mentor and do further research regarding your topics
Week 4: Work with your mentors to design and format your workshop
Week 5: Present your group’s workshop!! In your first five weeks, you have become a local expert on a specific topic that is meaningful to international students and have contributed to a public presentation! That is the definition of LEADER.
This will be a fun and interesting experience. You will be able to meet others and have your first leadership role on campus.
