Biography

Nathan is a Medical Graduate from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIU SOM) – Springfield, IL.  Nathan also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer engineering and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

He applies his experiences in Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Medicine to develop the next generation of medical and surgical simulation technologies.

Nathan has developed open source software for automated detection of Multiple Sclerosis lesions on brain MRI. Currently he is developing a private cloud-based image processing platform for high throughput neuroimaging analyses.

Nathan has been involved to research projects related to hand biomechanics and skin tissue mechanics, skin healing with stem cells in mouse models and he has developed tools for online microsurgical skills evaluation.
