Jump ARCHES

The University of Illinois is partnered with OSF HealthCare in an initiative, known as Applied Research for Community Health through Engineering and Simulation (Jump ARCHES). Jump ARCHES offers biannual awards to UI engineering faculty who collaborate with OSF health professionals for research resulting in improvement of health care.

HCESC at the College of Engineering and the JUMP Trading Simulation and Education Center at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois, are the respective facilitators for these collaborations.

Jump Simulation @ OSF HealthCare

Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center (Jump), at OSF Saint Francis, in Peoria, IL, is an incubator where collaboration and innovation lead the transformation of health care worldwide. Jump programs and objectives are key to improving the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of care for community members across the region.

Jump and HCESC are facilitating the collaboration between UI engineering faculty and OSF health practitioners that aim to improve outcomes and lower health care costs through innovative simulation training of medical professionals.

Jump Simulation Center @ Illinois

With a $10 million gift, Illinois launched the Jump Simulation Center on its Urbana campus, with the mission of training a new type of doctor, uniquely equipped to transform health care. The Center—located in the renovated Everitt Hall—will be part of the new Carle Illinois College of Medicine, the first medical school in the nation focused at the intersection of engineering and medicine.

International Partnerships

HCESC engages with a number of foreign academic and health institutions in several research and educational programs, related to Health Engineering Systems, to benefit qualified students and faculty abroad and at home.

Carle Illinois College of Medicine

The Carle Illinois College of Medicine is the first engineering-based college of medicine in the nation. Its curriculum is specifically designed to combine clinical medicine and biosciences with engineering. The College, a partnership between the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Carle Health System, will integrate the University’s unparalleled assets in engineering, technology and supercomputing with Carle’s nationally recognized, comprehensive health care system.
