Lela holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

She is creating virtual reality simulations to view patient specific anatomy, including novel input device for intuitive interaction with the virtual anatomy.

Lela mentors intern teams to create medical simulations for Sepsis team coordination and TAVR surgical planning.
