Every once in awhile I’ll tell my wife about a problem we’re seeing recurring at the office. In this case, it was an issue where students are saving their homework as a draft, then they are emailing support because they can’t find a button to upload anything. This is common with group assignments, where one student begins an assignment early on (with the rest of the group unaware), then another group member will enter the Assignment to submit the final version later.
After explaining this to my wife, she said, slightly annoyed “problems like those shouldn’t even be getting to you.” That’s when the light bulb went off: of course there needs to be some documentation about this! A lot of times when you’re working with so many different teaching and learning scenarios on a daily basis, it’s hard to see the simple solutions that make life easier. I’m glad I had someone to talk it through with.
