Description of Research: Previous research has established a breed of cattle not only suitable for the tropical climate of Tanzania, but with an increased ability to produce milk as well. We wish to introduce these cattle via embryo transfer in a sustainable way. To do so we will create an applied bovine reproduction course for use globally in developing countries (with the pilot being in Tanzania) as well as being taught here at University of Illinois. The course will enable the local people to be able to continue performing embryo transfer after we leave.
