A great science connection to do along with this series is to take a field trip to your city’s local aquarium.  Once there have your students participate in a scavenger hunt, individually or as groups, to find the different ocean creatures mentioned throughout the trilogy at the aquarium.  You can use the attached worksheet, which includes names of the animals, corresponding pictures, and lines for students to write an interesting fact about each animal, or create your own worksheet.  Make sure to contact the aquarium in advance to determine which ocean creatures from the books they have available for viewing at their site!
